RED HOOD

Several concept art pieces were created to develop the design, once a design had been settled on I created a maquette of the character to fully realize it in 3D Space. Once that had been completed, a full 3d scan was taken of my body and 3d printed out onto which a muscle suit was sculpted from clay. From there, I rescanned the sculpt into the computer to make it symmetrical and to make edits, then, I broke the sculpt down into its various muscle groups for better and more realistic moment. Once all of these parts were 3d printed back out they were finished, fiberglass and silicone molds were made. Foam latex was then injected and cast out of these molds creating soft and stretchy foam rubber muscle groups which were glued down to a spandex undersuit. The method in which each individual piece was glued down was specially done to create the illusion of flexing and moving muscles. Then, the main vest was skinned with leather and spandex, and the arms were skinned with a custom silicone printed spandex. Throughout care was taken to ensure that a performance was possible or amplified through the costume especially when moving.
